As a member of the Hobart Spinners, Weavers and Dyers Guild and the Southern Spinners and Craft Group, Joan's works are meticulously hand-crafted using time-honoured techniques and award-winning skills, built up over many years.

Each piece is carefully designed around the selection of the best raw materials, and is a  unique work of art in its own right, often taking many weeks or months to complete.

Joan Dicker's hand-spun and dyed super-fine merino wool scarf
Above:  Hand-spun and dyed super fine Saxon Merino two ply wool scarf. The scalloped ends are an Estonian pattern and the middle is an old leaf design used throughout Estonia and the Shetland Islands.
The scarf took about three months to make.    Dimensions - 980 mm x 216 mm weight only 20 grams. Available for sale.

Weighing in at just 80 grams this exquisite evening stole titled 'Lights in the Mist' was designed and produced exclusively for display with the Spinners, Weavers and Dye Guild of Tasmania.
Three months in the making, this superb work of 'Wearable Art' has been handspun and knitted in 2 ply natural grey Shetland Isle fleece with spun and dyed green and 'red' Saxon Merino plus the inclusion of 2 ply dyed gold silk. Delicately scalloped edges and appliquéd oloured crystals complement the finished work which was created in one long continuous piece.

This stunning piece has been interwoven with a total of 32 genuine clear Crystals that catch the light.  Weight 80 grams.
